A FUN DAY was had by all!
Lyne FC’s annual Fun Day was a great success as the sun shone on Lyne Village Green on Saturday 25th July. With the club fielding 16 teams ranging from U6s to Adults, the green was packed with players and their family and friends, enjoying the attractions and refreshments, not to mention, the fine weather.
Medals and awards were presented to all club members from 2014/15, with most managers (with a couple of predictable exceptions!) keeping the speeches to a minimum, so the players could make the most of the bouncy castle, head-tennis, penalty shoot-outs, burger and drinks stalls and most of all the sheer joy of kicking a football around.
The morning started with an unofficial game in which, the club secretary understands, the U12 Panthers whipped the U16s 3-1, thanks to some heroic goalkeeping from one of their Dads.
Some managers will be wondering if the energy some players put into sponging them in the stocks will be replicated on the field next season, if so, the opposition better look out!
Congratulations to the parents (we presume) who left the green with a golf and spa day at nearby Foxhills Golf and Country Club to look forward to and additionally somebody will soon be receiving notification that it was their balloon which travelled the furthest of the 150 which were launched and sailed serenely up into the sky towards Chertsey and beyond.
The club committee would like to say a massive THANK YOU to Therese and her girls, Jamie and all those who put so much time into organising the fabulous fun day.
Finally, thank you to all the parents and players for attending, we hope you all had a great day!!
