Preview: Lyne F.C V Horsley (Reserves) Surrey County Cup Quarter Finals
Horsley are currently 7th in the Surrey intermediate Elite reserve League. Out of the 13 League games Horsley have played they have gained 22 points, winning 7, drawing 1 and losing 5. Horsley have scored 20 goals in their 13 League encounters and have conceded 23.
Horsley have three games in hand over the top four and if they were to win those games in hand it would propel them into the top three.
In the County cup this season Horsley have played in all four rounds and their results are as follows:
Horsley 3-1 Windlesham
Horsley 5-1 Walingham
Horsley 3-1 Sporting Kitz Vets
Horsley 1-0 Crescent Rovers
As you can see Horsley have been fortunate to have played every round so far at home which has proved to be an advantage to them as I see in the League they have only lost one at home. Horsley however don’t travel that well only having a 50% win rate in all away matches.
Horsley’s main goal threat comes from W Pidgley who has racked up 15 goals in 16 which is a good return at any level. The Horsley squad consists of 28 players of which there seem to be a pretty consistent 11 starters.
Lyne however suffered their first defeat of the season last week going out of the Premier Cup after 120 minutes on penalties. This as hurt the Lyne team and all players are keen to right the wrong and get back to winning ways. Lyne will be looking to make a statement and get back on track in their quest to win the League and County Cup double.
K.O is 1.30 pm @ CB Sports and Social Club, Bedfont Lane, Feltham. TW14 9NW
Hope to see you there.
