Preview : Lyne F.C  v  Burpham F.C (4th Round of the Surrey County Cup)

Burpham F.C currently sit 2nd in the Guildford and Woking 1st Division and are having a pretty consistent season. However there has been a little dip in form in the month of December with Burpham placed 4th in the December form guide. In the month of December Burpham’s average points gained per game is 1.33 with a plus 1 goal average.

Burpham are slightly improved on the road taking 13 points from a possible 18, scoring 19 goals and conceding 15 from 6 away matches.

In the County Cup Burpham have beaten Parkside 8-2 (Kingstone and District premier, second from bottom) and beating  R.H Athletic  5-1 (Redhill and district premier, bottom)

Burpham’s biggest goal threats come from M Hunt with 12 goals from 11 (Leading scorer in Division 1), S Khere with 9 goals from 14 and S Lydon with 9 goals from 12.

One other fact we know about Burpham is that they like to introduce youth player into the first team, which we at Lyne endorse and respect.

Lyne F.C however continues their unbeaten run, now racking up 17 victories on the bounce. The last of these victories was against a very competitive Holmbury St Mary’s team which matched Lyne for best part of the game, but Lyne came away with the 2-1 win keeping our run intact.

By the time the Lyne team face Burpham in the Cup we will have had 2/3 training sessions under our belt to blow away the over indulgence over the Xmas period and will be firing on all four cylinders for our first match of the 2016 campaign.

Lyne will have a fully fit squad to choose from including Tom who has been out for some time undergoing treatments for a knee injury. Apart from Ryan who will be serving the first of his two match suspension after receiving his marching orders in the dying minutes of the Holmbury game, JT In Spain and Oat in Thailand the rest are good to go!!.

Lyne F.C very much looks forward to welcoming Burpham to the Meadhurst, and we are sure this match will be highly entertaining being a Cup match.
