Lyne FC are proud to announce a new partnership with St Ann's Heath School, Virginia Water.
Shortly, Lyne F.C and St Ann's Heath will be working alongside each other to give more boys and girls the opportunity to enjoy football. Added to that Lyne F.C are pleased to tell you that we as a Club will have sole use of St Ann's Heath's fantastic facilities every Sunday next season, plus we are intending to run a Lyne F.C soccer school on the same facilities every Saturday through the summer months starting in July (More details to follow).
All of the above is brilliant news for the Club and the School as a whole and our thanks must go to Mr. Bollands (Headmaster of St Ann's) for giving us the opportunity to build up this relationship with the school.
2009/2010 and what is expected and what’s planned for the older age groups and how will this benefit the younger age groups?
New Years resolution for Elite team.Perform to the highest level in training, warm-up and matches.Continue our run in the CountyCup.Secure our place in the Premier League for next season.Make the final of the Senior Plate Competition.New Years resolution for Platinum teamPerform to the highest level in training, warm-up and matches.Secure our place in the 1st Division for next season.Make the final of the Senior Plate Competition. Both teamsSet a good example for all of the younger age groups to be proud of and aspire to!!!New Years warningBoys of your age should not expect something for nothing, so don’t think your place in the Elite or Platinum team is secure if you do not prepare and perform in every session. We seem to have a small minority of players that lack or have temporarily lost the ability to work hard to achieve, please regain this will before the next training session !! Plans for 2009 The Elite team and Platinum team will be merged to create one squad of 25-30 boys (This will happen directly after the season ends)THIS IS OPEN TO NEW PLAYERS SIGNING FOR LYNE F.C FOR THE SEASON 2009/2010This squad will be coached by the existing Elite and Platinum management team with the addition of a full time goalkeeper coach, Ian Barrado, Richard Ayres and guest coaches invited in to take various sessions. In short, 7 minimum quantified football coaches, plus guest coaches for one squad.I also intend to get full sports physiotherapy backup which will be available to all squad players. The intension in preparation for going into Youth football in 2010/2011 is to have (Under 16’s)
A premiership team in the East Berks Youth League (Saturday mornings)
A premiership team in the Surrey Primary League (Sunday mornings)
A premier team in the West Surrey Youth League (Sunday mornings)
This way the boys will have the opportunity to play on a Saturday as well as a Sunday if they so wish.Training for next season will be two sessions a week(Players that play Saturday and Sunday will only be asked to train the once)A major goal is to find a senior ground to play our football on for the future, this is in progress at the present time and you will be updated in the near future.Plans for 2010Not to enter any teams at under 17’s, but accelerate a year and go straight into Youth level football. This level is under 18’s, and good preparation for going to senior levels the year after (2011)The difference between Lyne F.C and other Club progressing to senior level is that we are creating a youth and senior team and structure from scratch and not just filtering the odd one or two lads that are potentially good enough into a already established senior set up, thus Lyne F.C will give far more boys the opportunity to play senior football. Tours and TournamentsWe are going to enter a team in every small sided Tournament (Every weekend)that is available to us in the Summer months. (Only one team per Tournament and a player rotation system will take place)In June we are planning to go to France to enter a large small sided Tournament.(This will be done on the cheap and possibly involve camping out there) This may be 3 x teamsEarly July we will be going to Wythall in Birmingham to contend the Challenge Trophy. At the end of July we are planning to go to the Umbro International Tournament in Manchester, this year we intend to come back with some form of silverware after being so close in 2008.(This will be open to all boys that are registered to Lyne F.C and are part of the new structure and squad)HOW DOES ALL OF THIS EFFECT MY BOY PLAYING AT A YOUNGER AGE GROUP???A :This structure is being put in place to secure football for the younger age groups to progress into and aspire to.Finally we are looking for more parents to get involved and make these ideas reality for the future!!Any questions or enquires please contact Nigel on:

High Court Sheriffs award goes to Lyne F.C
Written by Nigel Edgecombe
Saturday, 13 September 2008
Surrey County High Sheriff, Mrs. Sally Varah, today visited Lyne FC’s home ground in Lyne Lane, Lyne to present the club with a High Sheriff Youth Award of £1000 to help buy new training kit. In the past year, the High Sheriff Youth Awards scheme has distributed over £40,000 to young people and youth organizations in Surrey that are actively helping to reduce crime and bad behaviour and contributing to making their communities a stronger and safer place. The award to Lyne FC recognizes the club’s achievement in providing more than 100 local children from all backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to play football and keep active. The club also plays its part in the local community through helping Lyne Village Hall association maintain the recreation grounds and partnering with local Primary School, St. Ann’s Heath in Virginia Water to share facilities and provide soccer school activities at the weekends.Nigel Edgecombe, Club Coordinator, said “We are absolutely delighted to receive this award. We very much respect what the High Sheriff is trying to do make our communities safer and stronger and we are glad to play our part.” The award has been used by Lyne to buy every player a new training top to help build a common sense of identity and belonging amongst the club. The High Sheriff was able to see the kit first hand during her visit as the children put on a special training session and talked freely about why they enjoy football. Commenting on her visit, Sally Varah said “I am impressed by the enthusiasm and energy of the young people – aged from 9 to 15, and from diverse backgrounds and communities – who are actively committed to Lyne FC. It’s good to know that by funding the training strip, we are helping to build that sense of identity.
“In my year as High Sheriff, I am particularly keen to support diversionary sports projects that promote potential in young people – and lead to healthy, fulfilled lives that are freer from crime and disaffection.I look forward to hearing that the teams from Lyne FC are top of their leagues!”
Our Thanks to everyone from the Club which attended the presentation and Special Thanks to Mrs Daphne Mitchell who attended as Secretary of Lyne Village Hall Managment Committee.
