Three in one victories:
Match one, League.
Lyne see a short hop down to Lightwater Leisure Centre on Saturday 17th September to play Millmead away at their new home.
To be honest Lyne bossed the opening minutes and opened the scoring within that minute with a well taken goal by Ryan Esprit.
Lyne continued in their dominance when they were rewarded again in the 17th Minute from our leading goal scorer Jordan Esprit.
Lyne continued to control the match but completed the half with a 0-2 lead.
The second half Lyne started the way they left off but could not add to their goal tally until the 66th minute scored by our second leading goal scorer Ben Placito.
Some ten minutes later Jordan got his name on the score sheet once more to make it 4-0.
Not to be outdone Ben gets his second of the match on 90 mins with absolute screamer from 22 out to make it 0-5 to Lyne.
Man of the match : Nial Stillwell.
Match two, League
Keens Park Rangers at Home:
This game was not about us as a team, it was about a Club showing our respect to Stuart William who we sadly lost in the week prior.
I am not going to go into any great detail about this match and I am only going to say we won the game 4-0 for Stuart with goals from Jordan (2) Ben (1) and Jake(1)
Man of the match : Ben Placito
R.I.P Stuart we hope we done you proud.
Match three, League Cup.
Westend Village Away:
We knew this match was going to be a little tougher than our last three league encounter as Westend are a level above us, what we didn’t expect is the Lyne team turning up half a sleep it seemed for the first 20 minutes.
So what happens when you are not at the races for the first 35 minutes on a football field….. you go in 2-1 down at half time and a deserved lead to Westend.
Goal scored by Jordan just before the critical half time when the lads seemed to remember why they turned up!
So a brief chat at half time and the second half began.
Lyne immediately started to build on their last five minutes of the first half and started to boss the match in spells. But we had to wait until the 53rd minute to capitalise with a well taken goal by Charlie Hearl to get us back into the game.
Ten minutes later Lyne are awarded a penalty, which was well slotted away by Felipe Lima.
Then only three minutes later Ashley converts a header from a corner making it 4-2.
Westend then scored again (3-4) and Lyne had to bank up for the last 15 minutes of the game which they did and see the result out.
Tricky game made even trickier by our own players!
Final score 3-4 Lyne.
Man of the match: Charlie Hearl
Next up is Burpham F.C at home on the 8th October, hope to see you there.
